Grammy Winning Package Uses Mohawk Via

Congratulations to Gary Burden, Jenice Heo and Neil Young for receiving a Grammy Award for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Packaging, at last night’s 52nd Annual Grammy Award ceremony.

To many, the Archives is about a collection of Young’s music, but to die hard fans, Burden, Heo and Young himself, the package is about the journey that inspired his music. More than just a collection of music, the Archives is a memory box with a replica of the journal Young kept through the years.  Photos, news clippings and hand written lyrics lead you through Young’s life and the events of the time.

Young and Burden chose to use Mohawk Via for the journal and the disc jackets in consideration of their own sustainable efforts. Burden explains on his blog that he has long been an admirer of Mohawk’s use of windpower. “Neil’s music has endured and we wanted the Archive package to stand up to that. And, we like knowing that we used a paper that is helping our environment to endure,” says Burden.
