Kate Spade is known in the world of design for everything from shoes and handbags to stationery and organizers. Their whimsical 2010 agenda delighted us, and we were equally excited to see that these two Kate Spade entries into Mohawk Show 11 were chosen as Finalists.

Mohawk Show 11 Finalist: Rebecca Ward Invitation

After a successful installation by “tape-artist” Rebecca Ward in the Kate Spade Aoyama Flagship store in Tokyo, Ward was asked to bring her unique talent for using tape and vinyl adhesives to create three-dimensional installations to the Broome Street store in New York. Kate Spade held an event upon the completion of the display, and the invitations were appropriately decorated with hand-applied fluorescent Gaffer’s tape. “The Rebecca Ward invite was clean and graphic,” said Johanna Saum, Public Relations Manager, Kate Spade. “We really love the combination of the rough tape on the beautiful, smooth Strathmore Writing Wove paper and Mohawk Superfine Eggshell envelope.”

Mohawk Show 11 Finalist: Kate Spade Holiday Cards

Kate Spade’s 2009 Holiday Cards are the epitome of holiday cheer. Each card features one of twenty tips on merry making for the holiday season, complemented by fun dresses, elegant handbags and other Kate Spade treats. “We wanted them to feel bright and celebratory,” says Saum. “We chose Mohawk Superfine Eggshell because we find that everything we print on it turns out beautifully. As a brand, we strongly believe in the use of color and Mohawk Superfine allows our colors to sing.”
