This award was given to Yale in recognition of the President Richard Levin’s outstanding commitment to the environment, as evidenced by his mandate that the University use papers with a minumum of 30% postconsumer fiber. Mohawk and Yale have long partnership on a variety of important print projects dating back to the 1940s when the Yale Press helped design an archival paper for a series of books on Benjamin Franklin. That paper later became Mohawk Superfine. Today Yale uses a wide range of Mohawk papers for project ranging from its letterhead to capital campaign brochures designed by Yale lecturer, Michael Bierut of Pentagram Partners in New York.

This partnership will allow Yale University to control costs and capture environmental savings by simplifying paper procurement.
