When we decided to give our Strathmore paper grade a fresh new look last summer, we turned to Pentagram Design, New York, for help. Under the direction of Michael Bierut, Marion Bantjes gave the iconic Strathmore thistle a beautifully modern new look.

The redesign, which is seen on all new Strathmore reams and promotions features Bantjes’ complex and geometric thistles in a repeating pattern, but is still reminiscent of original Strathmore design elements created by Pentagram’s Abbott Miller. We love it, and evidently, so did Communication Arts, who included it in their latest issue, the 50th Anniversary Design Annual.
